B.A Geography – Kutztown University. Joined Hawk Mountain in 2024.

After realizing her passion for outdoor education during her first internship almost 20 years ago, Lyric has had the opportunity to work at various environmental education facilities seasonally, throughout Pennsylvania, such as Shavers Creek Environmental Center, Wildlands Conservancy, and as a park ranger at Blue Marsh Lake. In these locations she gained experience with animal and raptor care, conducting summer camps and animal programs, which included various birds of prey, as well as educating the general public on natural history. During her time with the Disney College Program in 2009, Lyric was also fortunate enough to obtain a position as a Conservation Station Hostess at Walt Disney World’s Animal Kingdom teaching guests about the importance of conservation throughout the world. Through these opportunities she developed a strong desire to educate and inspire learners of all ages to be excited about natural history, conservation, and their role in the environment.

Lyric has spent the past 7 years in a classroom teaching science to grades 3-12 while working on a master’s in education. Her true passion is to create genuine and positive connections between individuals and nature, and she is especially proud to continue her environmental education career at Hawk Mountain Sanctuary.

When she is not educating, Lyric also enjoys spending time outdoors kayaking, camping, hiking, and exploring state parks with her husband and two dogs.
