Expanding raptor conservation since 2002
The Acopian Center is headquarters for Hawk Mountain programs in conservation science and training. Opened in 2002, the facility is named in honor of its benefactor, the late Mr. Sarkis Acopian and the Acopian family. A biological field station and training facility, the Acopian Center features:
- Two residence buildings that accommodate up to 20 for long- or short-term stays
- Research Center with offices for Sanctuary scientists and work space for trainees
- Teaching lab and GIS map lab
- Archival storage room
- Conference and meeting space
- The 2,500-volume Julian Hill Library, one of the largest collections of raptor literature in the world.
- Wireless computer network with notebook computers available
