Shoppers Receive Plants from Plant Sale Volunteer

Hawk Mountain will host its annual Spring Native Plant Sale on Saturday, May 16, 10am – 3pm, and Sunday, May 17, 10am – 2pm, featuring almost 100 species of native trees, grasses, ferns, shrubs, and flowering plants. The sale is held outside the Visitor Center in an ADA accessible lot. All proceeds benefit Hawk Mountain's conservation and education programs.

Native plants available for purchase include asters, sunflowers, milkweeds, mountain laurel, phlox, and more. Knowledgeable volunteers will be on hand to make the experience enjoyable, educational, and convenient: helping with plant selection and care, offering expert gardening tips, and even carrying purchases to your car or holding them until the end of your visit. For those looking to learn more, the Mountain Bookstore also offers a year-round selection of native plant gardening books.

The sale also provides a great reason to explore the Sanctuary's trails and scenic overlooks and enjoy the spring blooms and wildlife. It will be a busy and exciting weekend on the Mountain, with other events being held such as a live bat program, a guided walk about invasive plant species, and our free Weekend Programs.
