Wild Geranium
Posted on in Recent Sightings by Hawk Mountain
While walking through the Native Plant Garden you may notice the pinky-purple flowers of Wild Geranium (Geranium maculatum), a woodland perennial that can be found throughout most of the eastern U.S. and Canada. These simple yet beautiful flowers have five petals and sit atop tall stems. Their deeply lobed leaves are striking, separated into five sections that spread from the center of the plant. They are a favorite of native bees and many other pollinator insects.
