Open House for Professional Educators

Hawk Mountain is hosting a FREE Educator’s Open House this Friday from 9 AM to 2 PM for traditional and non-traditional educators and prospective education interns.
Participants will receive an overview of all of our new programming and FREE travelling raptor trunks, plus a tour of our facilities and a walk on our accessible Silhouette Trail to South Lookout. Educators will also receive a complimentary lunch in the scientist residence and will meet our international trainees and interns. They also receive FREE resources and a discount on their next program with Hawk Mountain.
Discover the variety of education opportunities available for both educators and students at the Sanctuary. Educators will tour the Irma P. Kahn Education Building, the visitor center, and the Acopian Center for Conservation Learning, all facilities utilized by our education team. Activities will include:
- examples of programs featuring live raptors (PDE and NGS standards aligned)
- interactive Smart Board mini-assessments
- raptor trunks for loan (free)
- distance education program via videoconferencing (free)
- new curricula, student books, and teacher resources (free)
- Act 48 approved educator workshops
- guided hike to South Lookout via our international award-winning, ADA-approved
- Silhouette Trail dedicated in 2015
