Spring Native Plant Sale
Saturday, May 17, 10 AM - 3 PM
Sunday, May 18, 10 AM - 2 PM
Hawk Mountain Sanctuary will host its annual Spring Native Plant Sale on Saturday, May 17, 10am – 3pm, and Sunday, May 18, 10am – 2pm, outside of the Visitor Center, featuring almost 100 species of native trees, grasses, ferns, shrubs, and flowering plants. The sale is open to the public, and all proceeds benefit Hawk Mountain's conservation and education programs.
Native plants available for purchase include asters, sunflowers, milkweeds, mountain laurel, phlox, and more. All full list of available species will be published leading up to the sale, but you can view the 2024 list for reference here.
Plant sale volunteers will help make the sale enjoyable, educational, and as convenient as possible; they will carry purchases to buyers' cars, store them until the end of the day's visit, and offer great gardening tips for any home landscape. Garden volunteers will be available to help visitors with plant selection and care. The bookstore also offers a year-round selection of native plant gardening books for those interested in learning more.
The sale also provides a great reason to explore the Sanctuary's trails and scenic overlooks and enjoy the spring blooms and wildlife. It will be a busy and exciting weekend on the Mountain, with other events being held such as our free Raptors Up Close programs and Amphibians and Reptiles of Hawk Mountain two-day workshop.
